Tom Brady Defied the Odds. Or Did He?

The truth is, I simply don’t like NFL football star Tom Brady. However, I always give credit where credit is due. When Brady was traded from the New England Patriots to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, I thought I was finally done hearing about him. Because in my mind, there was no way he would turn that franchise around, which went 7-9 in 2019. I truly thought Brady would retire before he could ‘fix’ the Bucs.
Well, I was wrong. In Brady’s first year in Tampa Bay, he led them to an 11-5 season. Add another three wins in the post-season, and Tampa Bay now finds itself in the biggest dance in American football: the Super Bowl on Feb. 7, 2021. In Brady’s first year quarterbacking in Tampa, he turned the team around and scored a spot in the big dance.
Unbelievable, but not. Why? Because this is the stuff that real leaders are made of. Tom Brady Defied the Odds. They work hard and commit to nothing short of excellence. They turn things around. They rally and then inspire fellow team members to do better. They win.
For all the negative things people have said about Tom Brady, you cannot deny the fact that he has an innate ability to spin magic on the field wherever he plays. And that, my friends, is the sign of a leader. I never thought those words would come out of my mouth in the same sentence as Tom Brady, but the older I get, the better I become at facing reality. Even when it hurts.
