The Broken Promise: How AI Is Leaving a Generation Stuck

INSPIRE EMPLOYEES TO SOAR

Recruiters, overwhelmed by tens of thousands of applications, are increasingly turning to AI-powered screening tools to filter candidates long before a human ever sees them.

At the same time, applicants are leveraging the same technology to craft flawless cover letters and CVs in seconds. The result: 5,000 candidates for a single job has become the new normal.

The outcome is a self-perpetuating cycle of automation and rejection — a system that saves time for companies but leaves qualified graduates stranded in digital limbo.  But beyond clogged pipelines and imperfect algorithms lies a more human cost.

This generation wasn’t built to endure such relentless rejection. They followed society’s blueprint: worked hard, earned degrees, took on debt — and now find themselves locked out of the opportunities they were promised.  The social contract that once guaranteed prosperity in exchange for education and effort is fracturing, and AI may be accelerating the breakdown.

Yet Silicon Valley’s leading voices insist this generation has never had more potential, even as AI threatens to eliminate up to half of entry-level white-collar jobs within the next five years.

Something must give. The next generation deserves more than algorithms and rejection notices — they deserve a system that sees them, values their effort, and gives them a fair shot at the opportunities they’ve worked so hard to earn.
